The skipper was forced off in Wednesday's 5-1 Champions League defeat at Bayern Munich and is unlikely to feature at Gander Green Lane, with Lucas Perez (hamstring), Aaron Ramsey (calf) and Santi Cazorla (Achilles) also missing out.
Danny Welbeck was also picked to play Leicester City in the U23 match on Sunday, suggesting he will not feature on Monday.

Jason Burt: Will Arsene Wenger's goose be cooked on the artificial pitch at Gander Green Lane? The surface may be Arsenal's biggest challenge against non-league opposition. What will be fascinating is how strong a team Wenger fields knowing this is his last realistic chance of winning a trophy in what is appearing to be his last season at Arsenal. A first-choice line-up will confirm the pressure he is under and add to what will be a memorable night for Sutton live on prime-time television also.
